8A THE PALM BEACH POST SATURDAY, APRIL 30, 1988 After 6 years of companionship, couple 'thrilled to be newlyweds' The Wedding Menu The wedding feast was catered by Casual Affairs of West Palm Beach. Ann Zweig King, owner, said Burt Reynolds wanted "a country buffet, something simple, elegant and down to earth." It began with hors d'oeuvres: coconut shrimp, spinach in phyllo pastry, wild mushroom puffs, ginger-chicken drum-mettes, canapes of European cucumber, Belgian endive with cream cheese and caviar, chicken brouchettes and miniature beef Wellington. A fresh seafood bar featured clams, shrimp, snow crab claws and raw oysters. On the main table were country pates with green peppercorns; salmon mousse cake with fresh dill and caviar; brie baked in puff pastry served with kiwi, raspberries and crackers; Swiss cheese with grapes, olives, melon, rough mustard and crackers. A chef sliced tenderloin of beef, and at another table country ham with biscuits and corn muffins with mango chutney and honey mustard was served.

Another table was "cascading with assorted spring vegetables artichokes, asparagus spears, cabbages, dips and more," King said. Strawberries with chocolate fondue was served for dessert. The wedding cake was composed of three hearts, baked as tiers, tied with silk ribbons and fresh white lilacs. "VEDDINGfrom 1A The bride and groom entered the chapel from opposite sides, Anderson escorted by Burt's father, Burt Reynolds Sr. Her sister, Andrea Sams of Minnesota, was matron of honor, and daughter Deidra Hoffman was maid of honor, i Reynolds' mother, Fern, wearing a yellow dress, attended the cere-jnony in a wheelchair because of a broken rib.

She did not attend the reception. Nabors flew to the wedding from "his home in Hawaii and toasted the with two songs, Love Is Here To Stay and The Lord's Pray-Ter. After he finished the second song, Dr. Jess Moody of Van Nuys, former pastor at First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach, pronounced the couple man and One of the white wedding gazebos inside the hangar contained a heart-shaped cake laced with gardenias and white satin ribbons. The centerpiece was dogwood, white lilacs and orchids.

More than 100 people some arriving as early as 8 a.m. gathered outside the tall white iron gates of the Reynolds ranch, which was protected throughout the cere-jnony by a team of uniformed Palm lBeach County Sheriff's deputies. Security inside the chapel and reception area was provided by deputies dressed in business suits. Parade of tinted car windows foils fans hoping to catch a glimpse of celebrities Anderson, wearing a new 7-carat wedding ring, is expected to return to Los Angeles after the honeymoon to finish a made-for-televi-sion movie, Leave Her to Heaven.

Reynolds, star of such films as Deliverance and Smokey and the Bandit, will return to his horse ranch to continue work with his Burt Reynolds Jupiter Theatre on Indiantown Road. He is said to spend about 60 percent of his time in the Palm Beach County area. He had telegraphed his intentions two months ago, announcing during a magazine interview that he planned to marry within a year. Reynolds later made a $10,000 wager with Johnny Carson to underscore his plans. "I'm going to use the money for the honeymoon," Reynolds joked.

Staff writers Belinda Brockman, Ron Kozlowski, Shari Laiaconia, and Nick Madigan contributed to this report. and SunFest. "I really lucked out," said McGrath, who brought a lawnchair. "I've seen all of his movies, and it would be great if I could see him today." She didn't. She didn't sit on her lawnchair, either.

It was easier to see what was happening standing up. "Well, we just figured it was something to do," Dunn said. "We've done just about everything else and thought this would be fun." Jupiter Farms residents young and old turned out to provide their best wishes to a friend. Resident Terry Kulp was there early in the day to put up a wooden sign decorated with red ribbons that read, 'Bandit' Burt, Jupiter Farms neighbors wish you and Loni the 'Best of Frankie Armentano, 5, patiently held a pine branch bearing a heart-shaped sign that read, "Congratulations from your neighbors in Jupiter Farms." He planned to wave it when the bride and groom drove by. But being shorter than most others in the crowd, Frankie missed his cue when Anderson's van went by and again later when Reynolds passed in a white limousine.

"I don't know," Frankie said, shrugging. FANSfrom 1A Sypniewski was one of about 75 curious onlookers who spent Friday morning and early afternoon waiting and hoping to see a celebrity on his or her way to the nuptial event. Problem was, most arrived in cars and buses with tinted windows, so onlookers could only guess who was inside. That didn't bother Mary Stranges too much. "I was hoping to see much more, but I'm satisfied," the visitor from New York said.

She got to see Anderson's face as the bride drove by, waving. "All this for a smile and a wave. But it's better than nothing," Stranges said. Most of the people who turned out to the ranch off narrow Jupiter Farms Road were the actor's neighbors, visitors from other states and the media. Straining to see, they got as close as they could to the 10-foot-tall gate, which was guarded by Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies.

Sandra McGrath and Judy Dunn have been visiting West Palm Beach from Boston for the past two weeks. They are planning to leave today and figured the wedding was a good way to end their stay, which also included a visit to the Grand Prix of Palm Beach TT7T2 rrvrvrrrr pipe patio HUE- points around the ranch, on Jupiter Farms Road 1 yk miles south of In-diantown Road. During the reception, as many as five helicopters carrying news-media representatives hovered about 500 feet above the Reynolds ranch. After the ceremony, the newly- weds posed for pictures while many of the guests walked to the reception area. Reynolds and Anderson joined the reception about 2:40 p.m.

Word of the marriage spread quickly throughout the day, prompting a steady stream of and congratulatory telegrams. "This is a big day, today, in Jupiter," said Margaret Kozlowski, a Port St. Lucie resident who stood the gate. "Things like this don't happen too often I mean. for Burt to get married anywhere, well that's important." Several of the groom's celebrity friends reportedly were unable to attend the wedding including Dom DeLuise, who did make it to the receDtion.

The guests began arriving shortly after noon, most of them hidden behind jet-black window tint. Each guest's name was checked off on a typewritten guest list monitored by Sheriff's Deputy Bob Allen. Nabors, seated on the passenger side of a white Ford Taurus station wagon, arrived at 12:45 p.m. Anderson arrived about 10 minutes later, smiling and briefly waving to ine crowa irom tne uacK oi a wnite ruiu vdii. one luiueu nei uedu aujav ac thA van naccoH a hank nf photographers and television cam-; eras.

The groom reportedly arrived just after 1 p.m., invisible behind the tinted windows of a stretch lim-, ousine that cruised unquestioned past the phalanx of sheriff's deputies. The marriage is the second for Reynolds, who was married to actress Judy Came in June 1963. It is the third marriage for Anderson, 41, who gained fame with her role as a secretary in the television se-' ries WKRP in Cincinnati. mem gand Outdoor Lighting rp 936 cf flags niter 3ilffii i33U3i C91 jt- rmmi TfsssssC jl gees ssme jffv A "rfJll wmpwEmM 1 I Anderson wore a long-sleeved white jersey dress with Victorian collar fitted with a banded lace jacket accented with rhinestones, designed by Robert Turturice of Los Angeles. She wore neither a hat nor a veil.

Reynolds was dressed in a navy-blue, two-piece pinstripe suit, a navy tie with red polka dots and a matching pocket square. His best man was Vic Prinzi, who works for General Foods in Tampa and played with Reynolds on the Florida State University football team in 1953 and 1954. Preparations for the affair began early Thursday and stretched almost to the time the bride and groom stepped to the altar for the ceremony, which lasted until 2:06 p.m. Tom Scruggs, who delivered 15,000 pounds of ice to the Reynolds ranch Friday morning, said he spoke with several acting apprentices from the Burt Reynolds Institute of Theater Training who were "pitching in" at the ranch before the ceremony. "They said the problem was trying to keep the wedding a secret," Scruggs said.

"Everyone was looking at their watches as they prepared the room. 'Time is the one guy said. 'We don't want him to blow up we know he has a hot temper. We respect him enough to try to make things as smooth as possible, especially on his wedding "They love Loni," Scruggs said. "They feel this is a marriage that's going to work they way they touch each other, how attentive they are around each other." He said the reception area was "totally white there were 6-foot-high plants, ficus, ferns, eucalyptus.

There were ferns around the gazebos." Three of the gazebos held bars one for the champagne, one for liquor and one for beer. Along one of the walls, behind the three gazebos, there were cases of Corona, Bud-weiser and Busch beer. Thirty cases of Dom Perignon champagne were served, placed in large barrels wrapped in white linen. Rows of tall-stemmed crystal champagne glasses were set out on each, six-person table. The hall was decorated with white and blue streamers, emanating from a large glittery wedding bell in the middle of the ceiling.
