Co. from lf65 to 1975, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2it00 in Juno Bearh. Florida. Bora in Scuba. Mississippi on March 17, 1910, he was ae 89.

Mr. Brown was married to his cherished Maraaret Ann "Baby" Massey Brown for 59 years until her death in 1994. His career at National Gvosum Co. spanned 54 years. It was his policy to seek out and accept responsibility for, seemingly, impossible tasks.

Not only would he accomplish the tasks, but would, invariably, exceed senior management's expectations. He is remembered as a principled and tenacious man. During his tenure as CEO, his considerable manage ment talents were successfully directed ai growtn and diversification through acquisitions of construc-: tion related businesses. He also improved efficiency by reorganizing the company into more manageable, discreet divisions, and the installation of sophisticated management control systems. By the time of his retirement, revenue had doubled, and, the financial condition of the company was the strongest in its history.

His competitive instincts were legendary. A co-worker was asked about ihe quality of Mr. Brown's golf game with the question "What score does he the response it takes to He attended The University of Mississippi. "Ole Miss" where, in spite of his small size, his athletic talents won him varsity letters in football and track. His fraternity affiliation was Alpha Tau Omega.

In 1976, he was awarded an Honorary Doctors of Law Degree from the University of Tampa. Mr. Brown was a 32nd Deuree Mason, Former Trustee of The Westminster Presbyterian Church of Buffalo, NY, President of The Historic Buffalo Club, Director of The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy, and a member of The Canisius College Business Council. OGIONY John P. Ogiony, 77, died Tuesday (January 25, 2000) at his residence in Jupiter. Florida, after a brief illness. Ogiony was the developer and owner of several shopping plazas and residential living facilities in Western New York; he started as a laborer at the age of sixteen and became a stone mason in his family const met ion business, before leaving to serve his counti-y in World War H. In 1938 the family business, Joseph Ogiony Sons, Inc.

was comprised of his father, Joseph, John and his brothers, Louis and Edward. Horn on November 4. 1922, in Lancaster, New York, Ogiony attended St. Lawrence school and received his hijh school diploma while serving in World War II with the United States Navy. Seventh Fleet, as a part of The Amphibious Corps campaign in the South Pa cific from 1942 to 1946.

After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1946, he rejoined his father and brothers in Joseph Oeiony Sons, Inc. which became one of the largest residential home development firms in wesiern New York. The Ogionys by the lswt nau constructed in excess of 2.000 family homes primarily in the Cheektowaga area. The Ogionys expanded their business operations and were responsible for the development of many area commercial and multiple family residential living locations in Hamburg, Lock-port, Akron, Newfane. Attica and Oil City.

Pennsylvania. Ogiony was director and part owner of the Hearthsione Manor banquet facility in Depaw, Ur-bandale Builders and Garden Village South commer cial developers. The Cloisters in Akron, ODS Apartment Management and many other development partner-ships. He was also active in the community being a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Cheektowaga, a member of the former Buffalo Trap and Field Club and devout member of the (ueen of Martyrs Catholic Church. Having moved to Jupiter, Florida he remained interested in the development of Western New York as carried on by his son's cor poration, M.J.

He was honorably discharged from the Navy after WW and slaved active in the V.F.W. Post 10150 of Boynton Beach.

88 years old, a longtime resilient of West Palm Beach, died Saturday. January 29, 2000 after an extended illness. Mr. Chalhub immigrated from Lebanon in 1919 and along with his family, operated a produce business from 1927 to 1936. In 1939 the Chalhub family established the Carefr-ee Center, a local landmark, which contained a movie theater, bowling alley, and billiard parlor.

From 1954 until 1974. Mr. Chalhub owned and operated Icon's Egg Ranch, a poultry farm in West Palm Beach, while his brothers continued to operale the Carefree Center. Leon was a charter member of the Syrian Iebanese American Club, St. Mary's Orthodox Church, and the West Side Kiwanis Club, all of West Palm Beach.

He is survived by his wife of HO years, Florence Chalhub; sons, John G. Chalhub (wife, Joyce) and Leon Chalhub. Jr. (wife, Judy), all of West Palm Beach; a daughter, Carol Chalhub Smith (husband, Joe) of Tuscaloosa, AL; 10 grandchildren, Scott (Jana) Smith, Michael (Susann) Chalhub, Amy L. Chalhub, Shannon L.
