28A THE PALM BEACH POST THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1990 2089 time capsule holds students' book reviews indoor AIR CONDITIONED indoor I FLEA MARKET The Associated Press WASHINGTON A time capsule prepared Wednesday by youngsters involved in a national reading program will give students in 2089 the impression that 20th century kids were a very literate bunch. Fifty selected book reviews of fourth-, fifth-and sixth-grade students from each state were placed in the time capsule that was "buried" at the Library of Congress to mark the second annual National Young Reader's Day. Six Months to Live tells "how to cope with personal problems the ones you can't change," 12-year-old Tiffany Harmon of Lexington, S.C., wrote. "Kids growing up in the 1990s are faced with their own personal battles," Tiffany continued. "Some of these include drugs, divorce, peer pressure and stress." Thomas Daniel Tarantino of Camarillo, said of The Hobbit, "You know, I've studied a lot about the Revolutionary War in school, but I never had such an in-depth look at the horror and sadness of war this book showed to me." The reviews were in the forms of letters in which youngsters displayed a sense of humor, as well as vivid imaginations.

Jeremy Eggleston, 12, of Binghamton, N.Y., began his letter, "Hi earthling! Maybe I'd better not say 'earthling' because in your time you might be living on Jupiter. Anyway, I live in the year 1990. When you receive this letter, you'll probably think my generation lived in 'ancient' times." SOUTH FLORIDA FAIRGROUNDS I I FREE ADMISSION PARKING $1 8 AM 4 PM INFO: 793-0333 9067 SOUTHERN BLVD. The device, with an explosive punch up to 12 times the force of the World War II atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, was detonated two hours behind schedule after security officers removed the protesters.

"We're very pleased with the success of the protest," said Junior Bridge, a spokeswoman for the Greenpeace environmental organization. "The controllers are showing signs of relief that it's over," Energy Department spokesman Jim Boyer said after the detonation. The blast was felt in Las Vegas, 105 miles away. It measured 5.1 on the Richter scale at the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo. Energy Department officials had rejected Greenpeace claims that the four protesters were near ground zero until they popped into view of cameras monitoring the blast site during a technical hold in the countdown six minutes before detonation.

Danny Lee Wright, 57, a fugi tive since May 1981 after his arrest on marijuana smuggling charges, was declared indigent by U.S. Magistrate Ann E. Vitunac, who ap pointed a lawyer to represent him at a bail hearing Friday. Wright, who bears a striking resemblance to singer Willie Nelson and has a string of aliases, was arrested Oct. 22 on cocaine charges as he walked into the bar at the Lake City Holiday Inn, said Gainesville Drug Enforcement Administration spokesman Stanley E.

Mor- rissey. Wright was indicted Oct. 17 by a federal grand jury and charged with four counts of conspiracy to import and distribute cocaine in North Miami Beach and at a marina in Dade County. If convicted on the new charges, he faces up to 160 years in prison and $8 million in fines. In court Wednesday, he told Vitunac that he has no money.

He was fined. After a three-month undercover investigation by the DEA and U.S. Customs, Wright was arrested in New Orleans in February 1981 on charges of conspiring to import 50,200 pounds of marijuana. After posting a $200,000 bond, he fled. Except for a few days in custody in Costa Rica in 1982, he had been a fugitive until his arrest last month.

News accounts in 1983 linked former Miami Dolphins running back Larry Csonka to Wright's alleged New Orleans conspiracy to import marijuana. Federal undercover agents said Wright introduced them to Csonka during their investigation in late 1980. Csonka was called to testify before a grand jury but was not charged. After Wright's disappearance, the DEA found the former cattle rustler at a coffee plantation in Costa Rica in July 1982, and he was arrested at the request of the U.S. Embassy there.

After the DEA sought his extradition, however, Wright was mysteriously released by Cpsta Rican authorities. AT BOCA RATON MORE SPECIAL THAN EVER Bloomingdalu Saks Fifth Avenue. Lokd Tavlob, Burdines, Jordan Marsh. Sears, The Grove. over 180 Specialty Stores.
