Bl4-Palm Bflch Post-Times, Sunday, Fcbrnary 5, 1178 Pot Smuggling Suspects' Bond $5.1 Million i Jxi- l-B D3 XXDtXj 8 operation, picked up a total of six men separately early Friday as they hitchhiked along U.S. 19 near Crystal River. Those arrested with Gordon were: William Reid, 26, of Massachusetts, Ray Smith, 30, of Columbus, Ohio, Bradford Rush, 32, of Miami, Stephen Burns and Michael Booth, no age or address given. Swanson. 33, was among the nine arrested Thursday. He and Robert Lawler and Anne Morrison, were held on $500,000 each. The trio listed the Miami church as their address, as did Gordon.

The other six arrested Thursday each of whom was held on $100,000 bond included: Reginald Toney, 31, Kingston, Jamaica: Mike Duane Cullison, 27, David Nissenbaum, 30, and Melvin Isaac Emmanuel 29, all of Miami, and Sheldon Douglas Woodward, 28, and Jeff Allen Brown, 23, both of Coral Gables. INVERNESS (UPI) Fifteen adUlU arrested Thursday and Friday in connection with the attempted smuggling of 20 tons of marijuana into Florida by yacht remained in the Citrus County Jail yesterday in lieu of a collective total of $5 1 million in bond. Officials indicated no more arrests wert expected in the case. Two juveniles 12 year-old boys taken into custody along with nine of the adults were turned over to juvenile authorities earlier. Those under arrest included Keith Gordon and Karl Delbert Swanson, identified as officials of the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church of Jamaica, a religious cult whose rituals allegedly include smoking marijuana several times daily.

Florida headquarters for the U.S. branch of the church is in Miami. The arrests began early Thursday morning when the nine adults and two juveniles were seized after Coast Guardmen and law enforcement officers closed in on the 60-foot yacht Our Seas as bales of marijuana were being unloaded near Yankeetown inside the Florida Barge Canal.
