Lillie Wilder passed away peacefully today in the arms of her daughter, while another daughter held her hand and sang some of her favorite hymns. All of her children were by her side at her son's home where she had resided for the past eight years.

How, in a few words do you capture the essence of Lillie Wilder, a true lady? First, and foremost, she was a giver of shining Christian witness; she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; homemaker and a seamstress extraordinaire; a wedding and birthday cake creator; a designer and maker of children's clothes, dance costumes, as well as prom and wedding dresses. She was a dedicated gardener and a fine floral artist; talented musician, songwriter and poet, recording her poems and music as they were given to her by God. Some of her work has been published. She was a fishing, quail hunting, and camping partner to her husband, Floyd. She was also a bookkeeper, and cherished elementary school administrative assistant; President of the P.T.A., an animal lover and life member of the Florida Wildlife Federation.

She upholstered furniture, made draperies and cornice boards for her home by her own design as well as doing the same for her children after they were grown. Her best friends, Paul and Autherine Wilson often said she could outwork any three men they ever knew. She would work in her garden from morning til' night making sure she had plenty of flowers to share. The way Lillie lived her life was a true testament to her faith in God. She was often fondly referred to as "The Saint of the Glades" as she always lent a hand to those in need.

She often visited the sick and dying bringing them comfort with flowers from ner garden or baked goods from her kitchen, and by quoting verses from the Bible. Even as she suffered with Parkinson's disease, she maintained a grace and sweetness about her right up to the end. What a blessing to have known her. Yes, Lillie was an Angel on Earth and now she has her wings. Predeceased by: parents, Bennett Pascal and Lora Scarborough Hobbs; husband, Floyd Oliver Wilder; sisters, Ethel, Tammie, twins, Lovie and Dovie; Brothers, Bennie, Leonard, Albert, Denver, and Hermon; son-in-law, Robert Jackson Stanley.
